ProFinda Connects Chicago Summit
Cookie Policy
The short version: we set the few cookies needed to sign you in and remember your choices, and we only load Google Analytics if you say yes. Marketing cookies are off and unused. You can change your mind at any time.
Also worth reading: privacy policy and terms & conditions.
How we use cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. This app uses a deliberately small number of them, and only two kinds: the ones it cannot work without, and — if you say yes — one analytics tool that tells us how much the app is being used.
Nothing beyond the strictly necessary items is set before you choose. If you close the banner or ignore it, everything optional stays off.
Strictly necessary
These keep you signed in after you open your email sign-in link, remember the cookie choices you made, save what you have typed into the registration form so a refresh does not lose it, and protect the app against cross-site request forgery. They contain no advertising or tracking data and cannot be switched off, because without them you could not sign in or register.
Analytics — your choice
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics counts visits and which pages delegates use. We use that only to see whether the app is helping people at the summit. We never send your name, email address, delegate record or message content to Google, and your IP address is anonymised.
Google acts as a processor for this data and may store it outside the UK and EU under the safeguards described in our privacy policy. If you refuse, the Google Analytics script is never loaded at all.
Marketing — your choice
Nothing in the app currently sets marketing or advertising cookies. The category exists so that if we ever embed third-party content or run advertising, it will only happen with your explicit agreement — accepting analytics never grants marketing.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page, or the button above, to change what you allow at any moment. Withdrawing analytics consent takes effect straight away and is as easy as giving it. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, or block them entirely — though blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you signing in.
We remember your choice for six months, then ask again. We also ask again if we change this notice, and we record which version of it you agreed to and when.
